Best Monero Futures Exchanges for XMR Leverage

Where Monero futures remain available—and which contract makes sense for your order.

Short answer

Binance was the cheaper sampled USDT choice around 10,000 XMR exposure on October 10. At 50,000, compare it with WEEX; their cost ranges overlap. Bybit is still a practical existing-account alternative. Kraken’s region-specific XMR futures listing also deserves attention from eligible European readers despite its earlier spot delisting.

Where can you still trade Monero futures after the delistings?

Monero searches often return announcements about products that no longer exist. Some of those announcements concern spot trading, some concern coin-margined futures, and others apply only to a regional service. Treating all three as one withdrawal from XMR produces an inaccurate exchange comparison.

Binance’s February 2024 announcement removed XMR spot pairs and ended the coin-margined XMRUSD perpetual. It expressly left the USDT-margined XMRUSDT perpetual unaffected. Our October 7 collection returned the latter’s instrument specification and active two-sided books. This is not an inference from an old Monero price page.

For someone who wants to trade XMR’s price using USDT, that surviving product is directly relevant. For someone who wants to buy Monero and send it to a private wallet, it is not a replacement for spot ownership. The same exchange can satisfy the first requirement while failing the second.

Monero XMR USDT futures ticket remains intact beside a detached spot-market stub
Binance’s 2024 announcement treated XMR spot, coin-margined futures and USDT futures differently. The product name matters.

Which current listings belong in an XMR shortlist?

Bybit supplies two distinct products, XMRUSDT and XMRPERP. The second settles in USDC. MEXC and Gate list XMR_USDT, while Hyperliquid’s native XMR market uses USDC and has a captured 5× maximum. Aster also returned an XMRUSDT book. These are specific derivatives, not spot-market symbols added to a leveraged-trading list.

The checked OKX instrument list did not provide an XMR swap. Its old removal notice therefore should not be interpreted the same way as Binance’s partial withdrawal. Nor should Zcash’s later return to OKX be treated as a relisting of Monero: those are different contracts with different histories.

We shortlist products for a particular trade rather than giving every surviving venue an equally enthusiastic card. Bybit and Binance produced the most persuasive measured USDT choices here. Kraken adds a useful regional distinction. The broader directory near the end retains other documented instruments without assigning them unmeasured liquidity advantages.

XMR futures fees: what changes between 1,000 and 50,000 USDT?

For 1,000 USDT of exposure, Binance’s estimated entry-plus-exit cost was 1.02–1.07 USDT and Bybit’s was 1.12–1.16. That difference is only a few cents. Moving money between otherwise suitable accounts solely for that saving would rarely be justified once transfer and conversion costs enter the calculation.

At 10,000 USDT, Bybit’s range was 13.28–14.64 and Binance’s was 13.34–15.33. At 25,000, their ranges were 45.65–46.72 and 45.12–52.42 respectively. The overlap matters: the observations do not support a permanent price winner at these sizes.

At 50,000, Bybit ranged from 114.81 to 121.33, against 117.96–132.97 on Binance. That makes Bybit a reasonable comparison baseline for a larger immediate order. It does not establish that the next Bybit book will beat the next Binance book.

Monero’s two centralized candidates were close enough for the order to reverse: the later 10,000 comparison was about 19.22 on Binance and 20.34 on Bybit. At 50,000 it was about 155 versus 162. Bybit remains a documented USDT route, but its earlier edge is not a reason by itself to move an existing Binance balance.

A low commission does not settle the Monero comparison

Aster’s regular 0.04% taker reference is below the 0.05% Binance reference, but its modeled 10,000-USDT cost was 17.62–19.06. The extra price movement through the returned book outweighed the two-unit commission advantage for the paired buy and sell.

Gate’s collected public contract fee was 0.075% taker. Its 10,000-USDT estimate was 34.84–37.88, including 15 USDT of paired commission. A different personal fee could reduce that commission component; it would not erase the independently measured book impact. A trader already using Gate may value account convenience, but that is a different justification from lowest observed execution cost.

MEXC’s 17.26–18.04 estimate at 10,000 uses the documented API fee schedule. A web or app promotion cannot simply be pasted into an API calculation, or vice versa. Without the actual channel-specific rate, an apparently precise “cheapest Monero exchange” claim can rank the wrong product.

Why the largest number in the table is not a position recommendation

Larger orders also need a viable exit, not merely a cheap small test order. Our model sweeps the captured book once in each direction. If an order is broken into smaller pieces over time, the later pieces face new prices and available quantities. Their combined result cannot be calculated by repeatedly reusing the cheapest original snapshot.

Bybit XMRUSDT or XMRPERP: when does USDC become expensive?

Keeping an existing USDC balance may look simpler than converting to USDT. In the measured Monero markets, that convenience had a large execution price. Bybit XMRPERP cost 119.91–121.70 USDC for the 10,000-unit paired model, while XMRUSDT cost 13.28–14.64 USDT.

At 25,000, the USDC estimate rose to 472.64–482.37. It also crossed the captured ordinary market-order limit: XMRPERP allowed 34 XMR, about 19,040 USDC at an illustrative 560 per XMR. The 25,000 model describes book depth, not an order the ordinary market control necessarily accepts.

Compare the conversion bill with the difference it would avoid

Suppose converting the intended 10,000-unit trading balance costs 0.1%, or ten units, in each direction. Two conversions add 20. Even adding that hypothetical amount to the upper USDT execution estimate gives about 34.64, well below the lower USDC estimate of 119.91 in this collection.

This does not mean everyone should convert. An account might already hold enough USDT, have a cheaper conversion route, or face restrictions on one product. The useful decision is concrete: price the conversion that is actually necessary and compare it with the measured difference. Avoid paying a much larger execution cost simply because the suffix matches the wallet balance.

BybitNative-coin operations not testedXMRUSDT and XMRPERP have different books and limits
A recorded derivative is evidence of that product, not approval for every resident or a promise of native-coin transfers.

USDC alternatives are not interchangeable

Hyperliquid’s XMR market was much cheaper than Bybit XMRPERP at 10,000, with a 17.57–17.85 USDC paired estimate. However, its native maximum was 5× and the returned depth did not fully support every larger scenario. It is a potential USDC route for smaller exposure, not evidence of a deep 50,000-USDC exit.

A Hyperliquid account also settles on a different platform with its own access and collateral arrangements. The choice is consequently broader than replacing one ticker with another inside Bybit. Where both are accessible, the measured execution and permitted leverage help determine whether keeping USDC is practical.

Is Monero futures trading available through Kraken in Europe?

Kraken’s EEA Monero notice ended regional spot trading and deposits in October 2024. Its later withdrawal deadline also expired; it is not a current invitation to deposit or withdraw native XMR.

The EEA derivatives specifications updated September 30, 2026 separately list PF_XMRUSD. The row specifies a 0.01-XMR minimum lot, a 50,000-XMR maximum position and 10× in the table’s Max Pro leverage column. This means that an unqualified statement that Kraken has no European XMR product is too broad.

The remaining qualification is precise: a published product row does not establish an individual client’s approval, classification or permitted leverage. In particular, the column is explicitly labeled for Pro leverage. We do not convert it into an unconditional promise of 10× for every European reader.

How does PF_XMRUSD differ from a USDT perpetual?

Kraken describes PF_XMRUSD within its linear multi-collateral derivatives family, with USD profit and loss. It should not be labeled a USDT-settled contract just because both are quoted against a dollar-like unit. The accepted collateral, conversion treatment and margin value belong to that account’s multi-collateral rules.

That distinction is useful if the reader already maintains collateral on Kraken and wants a documented regional XMR derivative. It is less useful to pretend that the global product’s leverage or our separate USDT execution measurements apply unchanged. Kraken is included for its verified product coverage; its XMR book was not part of this execution comparison.

For a European reader, the next decision is therefore whether the EEA derivatives account actually offers that listed contract under the relevant client classification. For a trader outside the EEA, Kraken supplies a separate global specification. Neither regional set should be silently substituted for the other.

How much Monero leverage can a larger position use?

Bybit XMRUSDT’s captured 75× band ends at 5,000 USDT. Its next band, through 7,000, permits up to 70×. The USDC contract begins at only 20× through 5,000 USDC, then 19× through 9,000. These are already different margin schedules before considering the deeper bands.

At 5,000 of exposure, dividing by the maximum gives roughly 66.67 USDT of simple initial margin for XMRUSDT versus 250 USDC for XMRPERP. That calculation excludes maintenance requirements, fees and a loss buffer. It explains the size of the difference; it is not a suggestion to run either account at the minimum.

A 100× listing solves a different question

MEXC and WEEX list XMR maximum settings up to 100× in the captured product data. Gate lists 50× and Hyperliquid 5×. Those headline settings answer whether a product advertises that leverage at some eligible size, not whether a particular account can apply it to an entire large position.

For Monero, selecting 100× instead of a 75× product does not by itself reduce the trading fee or improve the exit price. The trade still moves the same number of XMR through the book. A maximum-leverage comparison should therefore follow the product and size decision rather than override the less expensive measured USDT choices.

Order capacity is a separate limit

Bybit’s ordinary XMRUSDT market-order maximum was 205 XMR, approximately 114,800 USDT at 560. XMRPERP’s was 34 XMR, approximately 19,040 USDC. A trader can meet a margin requirement and still exceed the market-order quantity accepted by the chosen product.

These cash equivalents change with XMR’s price; the captured quantity ceiling is the meaningful specification. For an existing position, count the XMR held rather than dividing a new target cash amount by a later price. That prevents a misleading assumption that a falling price automatically increases the number of coins already in the position.

What did it cost to hold an XMR long for three days?

During October 4–6 UTC, both Bybit XMR products accumulated a 0.09% funding charge for longs. With constant 10,000-unit exposure, that represents nine USDT or USDC. The USDT product had nine funding events; the USDC product had eighteen. Counting payments without adding their actual rates would have exaggerated the USDC cost.

Binance’s XMRUSDT total was about 10.54 USDT, Aster’s 11.16 and Hyperliquid’s 25.54 USDC for the same constant value. These historical figures distinguish the observed carrying cost from the entry-and-exit estimates collected afterward.

For a trader planning to hold rather than immediately close, the evidence gives Bybit’s USDT contract another concrete advantage over its own USDC alternative: the latter did not compensate for its more expensive book with a cheaper total funding burden in this window.

Shorts reverse the funding transfer, not the trading cost

An equal-value short received those positive net funding amounts during the same period. It still incurred its own entry and exit commission and price impact. Funding income cannot be treated as a refund that makes every Monero short inexpensive, particularly if the price rises before it is closed.

Can you short XMR without depositing Monero?

Yes: the USDT and USDC linear products discussed here use their specified collateral rather than requiring a native Monero deposit to create the short. Profit is settled under the derivative’s rules. Closing a winning USDT short does not deliver XMR to a Monero wallet.

This matters after a spot withdrawal from a platform. An XMR price trade may remain operational even where the native deposit route is unavailable. Conversely, a futures listing is not evidence that the platform can receive coins from a Monero wallet or supply coins for a later withdrawal.

A privacy coin does not make the derivatives account anonymous

Account identification and regional access belong to the platform, regardless of the underlying asset’s privacy design. Bybit’s restricted-country policy excludes locations including the United States and Canada. MEXC’s current terms also exclude those countries and the United Kingdom, among others.

A reader in an excluded location needs a product lawfully offered to that location, not a different interpretation of Monero’s privacy properties. The country finder gives regional context; the specific operating entity and derivative still determine access.

XMR futures questions

Did Binance remove XMRUSDT futures with Monero spot?

No. Its 2024 announcement explicitly preserved the USD-M XMRUSDT contract while removing spot and the coin-margined XMRUSD perpetual. Current instrument and book responses also supported XMRUSDT in this review.

Is Kraken’s European Monero delisting the end of PF_XMRUSD?

The spot withdrawal and derivatives listing are separate. Kraken’s September 2026 EEA specifications include PF_XMRUSD. Client approval and applicable leverage remain account-specific; the published leverage column is labeled Max Pro.

Can I use 10× on Hyperliquid’s native XMR market?

The captured native-market maximum is 5×. A strategy requiring 10× does not fit that specification; a different builder product would need its own contract-level review.

Does Monero futures profit arrive as XMR?

Not on the USDT and USDC linear products compared here. Profit follows the contract’s settlement currency. Acquiring native XMR afterward would require a separate available spot and withdrawal route.

Why can a Bybit XMRPERP order fail below its position limit?

Its ordinary market-order maximum was 34 XMR, while the position uses separate risk limits. Meeting the overall position requirement does not remove the per-order quantity ceiling.

Which XMR contract has the lowest funding frequency?

Among the two Bybit instruments checked, XMRUSDT had eight-hour events and XMRPERP four-hour events. Both nevertheless totaled 0.09% for longs during October 4–6, so frequency alone did not identify the cheaper holding cost.

Can a Monero delisting force a futures position to close?

A delisting of the exact derivative can end that position under the venue’s notice. A spot delisting alone does not establish this result. Binance’s different treatment of XMRUSD and XMRUSDT is why the complete contract symbol must be matched.

The modeled amounts describe exposure on each side, not an amount of collateral to deposit. A 50,000-USDT position can impose substantial loss even if the margin used to open it is much smaller. The table answers where an intended size encountered lower modeled friction; it does not select that size for the reader.

Three independent collection windows ran from 00:21 to 00:26 UTC on October 7, 2026. Estimates sweep each returned order book in both directions at equal quote value, adding the stated taker reference. They are not completed trades or a representative daily/stress sample.

Gate, MEXC and OKX contract quantities are converted to underlying coins before pricing. Only complete buy and sell depth in all three samples produces a full-size range. Missing returned depth is not evidence that no further liquidity exists. Stablecoins are compared at par; increments and single-order ceilings are considered separately.

Funding totals use the actual events in October 4–6 UTC, with constant position value. Trading fees exclude personal tiers, rebates, token discounts and transfer costs. MEXC figures use its API schedule; Gate figures use public contract fee fields. Neither establishes a logged-in manual-account offer.
